Refinery Overview

The Borger refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle approximately 50 miles northeast of Amarillo. The refinery processes 146 mbpd of medium and heavy gravity sour crudes plus fractionates 50 mbpd of mixed natural gas liquids (heavy sour crude processing was enabled by the recently completed $500MM Coker Project). The Borger Refinery produces LPGs and motor fuels products for the Rocky Mountains, West Texas and Central U.S. market areas. Additionally, the refinery produces pentane and heptane solvents for specialty products applications.

ConocoPhillips Borger Refinery operates a 146,000 barrel per day refinery. The Borger Refinery has approximately 725 employees located in the panhandle of Texas in Borger, Texas.

The Borger Refinery is seeking to fill openings for Yardmen. This is an entry level position with excellent progression opportunities into Operations and Maintenance crafts. The entry level rate of pay for a Yardman is $16.88/hr, with a pay increase after 9 months to $19.57/hr and again in 9 months to $21.41/hr. Responsibilities:

A Yardman performs a wide variety of manual labor tasks with varying day-to-day work assignments. Primary responsibilities include:

* Installation and removal of piping and piping components
* Using large tools, both manual and pneumatic
* Climbing heights to perform repair/maintenance work on towers, tanks, and vessels
* Operating motorized and manual equipment
* Using piping and structural drawings for installation and demolition
* Performing work activities that include pulling, lifting, twisting, working in confined spaces, and on elevated platforms requiring fall protection
* Entering and retrieving computer data as well as data analysis
* Using fire equipment when necessary along when many other general maintenance activities

Work Environment:

The Borger Refinery is a 24-hour, 365 days per year operation. Candidates must be able to work rotating shift schedules which include nights, weekends and holidays as well as scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Qualifications

Basic/Required Qualifications

* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Have a valid driver's license
* Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
* Willingness to perform/comply with the following:
* To work at least an 8-hour rotating shift and up to a 12-hour rotating shift, which includes some weekends and holidays
* To work overtime
* To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
* To work near large, hot, high-speed machines
* To climb up to 250 feet in height
* To lift a minimum of 50 pounds
* To work around chemicals, including acids and bases
* To wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
* To maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
* To perform fire fighting duties
* To work outside in harsh weather conditions
* To work with petroleum products that are under high pressure and heat
* To read technical procedures and materials in English
* To learn computer software associated with process operations

Preferred Qualifications

* High school diploma or G.E.D
* Associate's degree or Technical certification in Process Technology from an accredited school
* Military certifications that are process operations related
* One or more years of direct experience working as a process operator, maintenance or technician in a refinery, chemical, power, nuclear, wastewater treatment, or pharmaceutical industry
*
At least 2 years of recent continuous full-time work experience
