Position Summary
North Belut is a major gas/gas condensate asset scheduled for first production August 2009 to supply the Malaysia GSA2 contact. A 2+ year development drilling of 38 wells program commences summer 2008 from the first of two well head platforms. Final development well locations for the initial 20 wells need to be matured. Results from these early wells will be used to define how many infill and step out locations are required to meet gas contract demands and optimise field recovery. The team has a target of updating EUR and well count forecast in Q4 2009.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Staff Geophysicist may include:
* Working with another geophysicist to provide all necessary seismic interpretation and analysis * Working with team of geologists and reservoir engineers to finalise initial development well locations and define future locations for a multi-phase drilling campaign * Being a proactive contributor to the multi-discipline well team * Working with subsurface team to update EUR and recommended well count by end 2009 * Anticipating geoscience work program requirements and gaining necessary internal/external approvals for successful and timely implementation to impact field development * Networking with ConocoPhillips specialists and contractors to identify and deliver timely technical support * Daily mentoring of junior and senior technical staff * Representing the company to partners and government authorities * As a senior technical Business Unit member, providing advice to management and the coordinating venture (asset) team * As the senior member of the subsurface team, ensuring that all the required geophysical analysis is completed to a high standard and combined with the geological, drilling and well test data ensuring a fully integrated geological model is produced.

Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Geophysics * Highly skilled in seismic interpretation with 7+ years experience working in a variety of deltaic, fluvial and shallow water clastic environments * Proficient with Openworks and Seisworks to interpret seismic data * Proficient in 3D interpretation using visualization tools (multivolume rendering) and poststack/PAL * Demonstrated capability to extract quantitative reservoir properties from a high resolution seismic volume for predicting reservoir development * Capable of teaching the use of one of the industry standard AVO analysis software packages. * Experience in seismic processing sufficient to postprocess stacked data to highlight faults, stratigraphic features, and rock properties * Familiarity with geomodeling and reservoir simulation * Experience in active drilling operations * Experience in reservoir and production management * Leadership experience in managing subsurface projects * Prior experience in representing company at technical and management meetings
Preferred Qualifications
* 15+ years of geoscience experience in the Oil & Gas Industry * Mastery of PETREL for geomodel construction would be an advantage * Proven capability of working across disciplines with informal leadership roles * Proven experience in people development and genuine interest in working across multiple cultures * Strong influence skills and ability to be patient
