Position Summary

ConocoPhillips is currently looking for individuals to work in the Reservoir Laboratories Group as a petroleum research scientist. These positions will work in a team to support the company's current operations; as well as, its business initiatives around challenged and non-conventional energy resources.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of  the petroleum research scientist may include the following:

Carry out applied research in a range of areas using advanced instrumentation to study the dynamics of oil & gas production in the subsurface

*
Develop new technologies and address issues for production operations

*

Address issues in the production of challenged and unconventional resources, where systems and processes are often outside the traditional areas of oil and gas production

Qualifications

Basic/Required Qualifications

*
Legally authorized to work in the United States

*
PhD  (or 2009 PhD completion) in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or other related discipline

*
Experience carrying out physical science experimental work in a laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications

*
Desire to pursue a career in advanced technical lab work in subsurface studies

*
Ability to work well in a team environment.
