Refinery Overview
The Trainer refinery is located on the Delaware River in Trainer, PA, about 10 miles southwest of the Philadelphia airport. The refinery has a crude oil processing capacity of 185 MBD and processes mainly light, low-sulfur crude oil.
Welders work in the Maintenance Department of the refinery. The position is a straight day job, subject to shift work, call outs and mandatory overtime.
The Welders are responsible for:
* Reading prints and fit up for fabrication.
* Welding X-ray quality welds on piping and structural steel. Materials consist of various alloys such as carbon steel, stainless steel and chrome.
* Laying out, punching, bending and fabrication and erection of structural iron and steel work such as beams, walking and working platforms, ladders and ladder cages.
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
* Valid driver's license.
* High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Vocational training or equivalent welding experience.
* Three years experience in a refinery and/or similar industry.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook).
* Ability to work alone and in a team environment.

* Climbing and lifting, may be required to work in confined spaces or at elevated heights.
* Knowing and observing safe work practices including wearing Personnel Protective Equipment i.e., fire retardant clothing, hard hat, safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, safety gloves, hearing protection, safety harness, and breathing apparatus (respirator and SCBA.)
* Meeting physical criteria for the job, and pass drug and alcohol screenings.
* Passing a craft skills assessment test.
* Passing a physical agilities test.
Relocation is not available for this position.
