Refinery Overview
The Trainer refinery is located on the Delaware River in Trainer, PA, about 10 miles southwest of the Philadelphia airport. The refinery has a crude oil processing capacity of 185 MBD and processes mainly light, low-sulfur crude oil.
Machinists work in the Maintenance Department of the refinery. The position is a straight day job, call outs and mandatory overtime.
Responsibilities
The Machinists are responsible for:
* Performing any and all work for which they are qualified, related to repairing, altering, fabricating, removing, installing, assembling, troubleshooting and servicing a wide variety of rotating processing equipment, such as pumps, compressors, motors, etc.
* Performing close tolerance work on metal machining equipment such as lathes.
* Maintaining and operating all equipment and tools to support and maintain required skills.
* Sustaining a well-kept and orderly site in the performance of all work duties.
* Working in a team environment and assisting other personnel in accomplishing tasks and major projects.
* Climbing of equipment and the ability to work in confined and tight spaces and at elevated heights is occasionally required as is the ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
* Taking ownership for safe working practices.
* Being able to read and interpret vendor equipment information
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
* Valid driver's license.
* High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Three years of direct experience reading machine drawings, P&ID's, schematics and technical manuals.
* Three years of journeyman level experience with rotating equipment including pumps, seals, fans, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes in an oil refinery, petrochemical plant or similar facility.
* Three years of experience with process operations or mechanical equipment with emphasis in troubleshooting, diagnosing, disassembly, inspection, repair, re-assembly and adjustment of valves, valve actuators, materials handling equipment.
* Good oral and written communication skills pertaining to documenting inspection and repair information.
* Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook).
* Ability to work alone and in a team environment.

* Meeting physical criteria for the job, and pass drug and alcohol screenings.
* Passing a craft skills assessment test.
* Passing a physical agilities test.
Relocation is not available for this position.
