The Senior Financial Analyst - Clean Products position is a great developmental opportunity for a finance or commercial candidate. The candidate would be exposed to financial analysis for the Commercial business, and, through working closely with traders and schedulers, learn about the Commercial organization as a whole. This position will develop a candidate's understanding of commodity and derivative trading along with the supply/demand dynamics of the downstream clean products business. This position may be responsible for a specific geographic trading or supply region and supports Clean Products through the analysis and explanation of financial earnings. This position also provides daily risk and profit and loss reporting. Within this role there are also opportunities to lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Other responsibilities may include:

* Explaining area's earnings based on the trading or supply activities within that area, while breaking out extraneous factors impacting earnings like PPAs, various supply activities, ratability of Refining supply and Marketing demand.
* Monitoring and reporting all physical and paper commodity trades using the commercial department's deal capture, position reporting and risk management systems.
* Using existing systems and spreadsheet queries to summarize commercial commodity price risk positions.
* Reviewing new trades frequently throughout the month to ensure they are accurately reflected in the system.

Ensuring appropriate prices are used for marking all open positions to market.

* Preparing daily business unit position, exposure, and P&L report(s) timely and accurately.
* Preparing ad hoc analysis as assigned.
* Interfacing as key liaison between the trading group and Finance (Accounting and other F&PA groups).
* Building working relationships with Risk, Commercial Accounting, Commercial Integration and other support groups to resolve issues.

Qualifications

Basic/Required

* Legally authorized to work in the United States.
* Bachelor's degree.
*
One year of commercial experience that includes exposure to trading activities and related reporting/risk management.

* Two years of direct experience with financial products/contracts used in commodity trading and risk management (swaps, options, futures and forwards).
* Proficient (utilizing core functionality of the program with no assistance) use of Excel.

Preferred

* Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business.
*
Knowledge of Sol Arc, Right Angle, and Supply Trading Analysis and Reporting (STAR) applications a plus.

*
Effective and well-developed written and oral communication skills are important. Must have the ability to interact with both finance and trading customers.

* Demonstrates a high level of personal initiative and sense of urgency to get the job done.

* Must be able to work in a team environment and be an independent contributor.
