The role of the Global Risk Management Process Lead is to optimize risk management processes across Commercial that relate to market risk measurement.

Responsibilities may include

* Collaborating with functions (Risk, Pricing, Accounting, F&PA, IT and others) across Commercial on the following:
* Making the risk related calculations and associated reporting more transparent
* Ensuring that risk measurement processes are consistent with risk reference cases for the global trading business units and that they meet Commercial objectives
* Specifying process requirements to simplify and streamline risk related systems support (e.g., new instrument setup, risk calculation enhancements, report customization) and providing a single point of contact to risk customers on support requests.
* Reporting the daily Value at Risk (VaR) data for the global trade portfolio and issuing the Global VaR reports per COP risk Authority Limit requirements.
* Working with the risk, position control, systems support and financial reporting to coordinate the Quarterly Mark to Market VaR calculation and reporting process for external disclosure.

* Working with the risk managers to prioritize risk systems change requests. Some of the factors to consider could include the following:
* Effort required versus Value add across risk business units
* Timing
* Potential impact on other systems / processes
* Existing workarounds / complexity
* Operational risk incurred if system change is not implemented
* Risk process reliability before / after change

* Working with risk managers to build functional requirement documents whenever changes to Analytics/risk management modules are requested in systems (STAR, TriplePoint and ZaiNet).
* Working with the risk managers and trading management to define risk analytics that would add value to the trading operation (e.g., identification of trade opportunities, extracting margin from embedded physical asset options). Working with risk management to build out these analytics.
* Actively participating in building test plans, coordinating testing activities within market risk function and signing off on any market risk related changes that are put in as part of patches, enhancements or major upgrades to risk systems.

Qualifications

Basic/Required Qualifications:

* Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
* Bachelors Degree required in Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Math, or Engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years experience working within market risk function in the Energy commodity trading business.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters Degree
* Experience with the Zainet risk management system (deal capture, market configurations, VaR engine)
* Excellent interpersonal and team skills
* Results driven
* Detail oriented and organized
* Strong facilitation and communication skills.
* Flexible and able to adapt
* Must be able to interact well with the representatives of functions across Commercial business
* Ability to mentor IT system support staff and improve their knowledge of risk calculations / processes in relation to business objectives
* Experience troubleshooting issues with VaR calculations including Correlations, Volatilities, VaR Liquidity adjustments, VaR curve mappings, maturity bucketing and trading book structures
* Understanding of inputs that drive the VaR calculation, VaR outputs and reporting requirements
